Chapter 26 (Sookie) - His One True Love

Sookie headed out of her little shanty, eager to start making progress with her science career.  It was so different living in a house on her own!  She loved it, though!
She was quite pleased when her coworker, Ivy Copur, came home with her.  They had so much in common!  She hoped they would become good friends.
She was used to loud, rambunctious meals with 4 or 5 people grabbing up plates as soon as they were served.   Being on her own would take some getting used to.
She loved the peace and quiet!

She headed to work, quite confident she would be getting a promotion quickly.

It came sooner than she'd thought!

Sookie saw a handsome man standing outside her door when she came from work.   She wondered who the mysterious man was!
She quickly greeted him and discovered he was just passing by.
Although there wasn't any romantic chemistry, Sookie was happy to make a new friend.

The next day she was offered another promotion.  She was really excelling at her career path. She felt that college would have held her back!

But soon, the loneliness began to get to her.  Every day felt like it was the same.  Cook, clean, chess.  She needed something to break up the monotony.

She flipped through her address book and found the name she was looking for.  She'd only met him once, but there'd been a spark of a connection.

"Hi, this is Sookie Lee," she said nervously when he answered.  "I don't know if you remember me.  We only met once, but I was hoping you might like to get together for coffee or..."

"Sookie! Sure! I remember you!" he answered, sounding pleased.  "Why don't I come over?" he offered.
Sinjin kissed her cheek in greeting.  "Hey! You might think this is a line, but I was just thinking about you the other day!" he told her.
Sookie swooned.  She couldn't believe a man as handsome as Sinjin was interested in her!
"Would you like to come inside?" she offered shyly.

It was a whirlwind romance.
The only thing Sookie could say in her defense was that she felt in her bones that he was the one!  He was so charming, funny, and that smile!  She was pretty sure it was love at second sight, for both of them!
"Do you want to move in together?" she blurted out, interrupting his story.

He considered the offer a moment and then agreed.
What Sookie didn't know was that Sinjin barely had a $1 to his name.  He'd blown it all recently at the Tortuga.  He'd been certain he'd win that hand of cards...

So, moving in with Sookie gave him the perfect opportunity to recoup his losses
And of course, there were other benefits, as well!

"I'm headed to work. I'll see you this afternoon, okay?" Sookie said as she headed down to the Science Facility Trailer.

Sinjin glanced up from the chess table and nodded. "Sure, see ya," he told her.

She paused before heading out.  "Do you work today?" she asked curiously, since he was still in his pajamas.

"Yeah, maybe later," he said vaguely.

Sookie brightened. "Oh okay, sounds good!" she told him, kissing his cheek as she passed by.

Sinjin didn't wait long to call up his friend, Rose.
He liked having a few girls on the line, just in case he needed something.
"Wait, you live here with another chick?" Rose asked, pushing his hands off of her.
Sinjin shrugged. "Yeah, but it's not serious. We're just roommates!"

Rose frowned, not believing it for one minute.  "How stupid do you think I am?"

Sinjin paused.  "Did you want an answer to that?"
Sookie was in the best mood.  She was offered another promotion. She had a great relationship.  She was on top of the world!
She was slightly curious why the red-head covered her face as she hurried by, though.
"Hey, was that your friend that just left?" she asked, hitching her thumb over her shoulder.  "She just brushed by me and didn't say hi."

Sinjin pouted on the couch.  "Nah, just a wrong phone number."

Sookie pondered that a moment, but was distracted when Sinjin offered to take her out to dinner.

Well, his actual words were "Wanna go get some grub?"
But she happily trailed behind him, excited to be going out together.
They headed over to the Reality Diner and checked in.
"What can I get for you?" the waiter behind the counter asked.  Sookie glanced over the menu and finally settled for some macaroni.
She was surprised when her mom slid into the seat next to her.  Meadow held up her hands innocently. "I was just in the area!" she promised. "I'm not here to horn in on your date!"  She paused a few moments, leaning forward to see Sinjin.  "I'm Meadow, Sookie's Mom.  It's nice to meet you!" she announced loudly.

Sinjin glanced back and forth between Meadow and Sookie, at a loss for words.  "Your mom?" he asked with surprise.  "We're not really at the 'meeting your parents' stage," he told her.  "Check please!"
While Sookie finished her meal, and gave her mom a hard time, Sinjin greeted a cute looking brunette nearby.  He pocketed her number with a wink and a nod.

"That was great," Sinjin said, cutting their woohoo short.

Sookie blinked in surprise. "Wait, what?" she asked. "But, we didn't finish!"
"Sorry babe, I'll get you next time," he promised.  He left Sookie alone in bed as he hurried off to work.
Sookie woke up early to prepare for work.  She saw Sinjin had made it home finally. He must've slipped into bed after she fell asleep around midnight. She hadn't know the diner stayed open so late!
Quietly, she studied.
But, rearranging the chess pieces didn't seem to help.  "Na - pawn, Cl - queen," she muttered.  "Fl - knight? No, no, that's not right."  This wasn't working!
"I was wondering if you would go with me to the Science Facility so I can run some diagnostic tests," she asked Sinjin when he finally woke up.
"I dunno, babe.  I don't really think I'd enjoy hanging out at the science trailer."

She'd had to get stern, but Sookie happily ran the molecular tests she needed while Sinjin waited quietly on the couch nearby.  He made sure she knew how bored he was, sighing loudly every once in awhile.
"Are you ready yet?" he whined.

Sookie lifted her hands from the console.  She glanced at the window nearby sheepishly and saw that dark had fallen.  Perhaps she'd gone a little long!

Since Sinjin was at work, Sookie invited a few friends over.  She was having a wonderful time chatting and getting to know the group.
Sinjin finally got home.
"Hey, we haven't met before," he said, introducing himself to the cute blonde.
"You look cold, why don't you come inside and warm up!" he told her, glancing across the way at Sookie.  She was busy playing kickybag with some guys, so she should be preoccupied for awhile.
"Let's see if we can get you warmed up," he told her.

Sookie quietly shut the door and hurried into the warm house.  Brrrr, it was so cold outside!

She rounded the corner and saw Sinjin chatting with her coworker Sandy.  "Hey guys! I just popped in to use the restroom!" she told them.

Sinjin sighed with relief.  "That was close," he told her with a small laugh.
"Call me," she told him, kissing him before leaving.
"Sandy looked much warmer when she left!" Sookie noted.  "This weather is just awful, isn't it?"

Sinjin murmured his agreement as they straightened the bed.

Sookie sighed after their aerobic workout.  "Wow," she told him with a grin.  "That was amazing!"

Sinjin just winked. "You got it, babe!"

The next morning, he peeked around the corner and saw Sookie was still asleep.
He crept to the phone and called Sandy.  "I can't wait to see you again. Can you come over now?"
He anxiously waited downstairs, primping.
The moment he saw her, he pulled her into his arms and schmooched her.

Sookie saw the old newspaper on Sinjin's side and sighed.  "He leaves stuff everywhere!" she muttered, grabbing it and heading to throw it away.

Rather than take it outside, she used the trash chute near the front door.
Absently, she wondered where Sinjin was this morning.  I don't remember him having to work, she thought as she prepared lunch.

"What do you say? Run away with me!" Sinjin was telling Sandy downstairs.  "I've never met anyone like you before!"  He didn't give a second thought about Sookie.  Sandy was his one true love! You never let anything stand in the way of a 3-Bolt Love!
Sandy launched herself into his arms and agreed.
(Serves them both right!)
Quickly, he grabbed the newspaper and looked for rooms available.
And then, like a thief in the night, he was gone.

The afternoon wore on.  Sookie wondered where Sinjin was.
He'd agreed to meet her family today at the family reunion!
"Look, Uncle Urias and Marisa are at it again!" Meadow said with a laugh, pointing over Sookie's shoulder.
"I dunno, I think it's kinda romantic," Sookie told her Mom.  "I hope Sinjin and I are like that in 30 years!"
Urbain and his wife, Alyssa, keep their young children entertained.
Tesira and Theorem joke about college and how cool it will be when they're on their own.
Teak and his brother sailor play Rock, Paper, Scissors.  "Grrrr, how do you beat me every time?" Teak said frustrated, holding his fist out.  "Okay, best out of 5!"
And of course Urias and his wife are spotted making out again.
Urias and his favorite nephew, Tetris.

"Hey, watch where you're swinging that pillow!" Melissa said, dodging.

Sookie hugged her brother Tetris.  "How's the baby?" she asked.
"Sleeping through the night, thank goodness!" Tetris told her.  "Mom's been great helping us out!"

Sookie smiled.  "Maybe if Sinjin and I have kids, Mom can come live with me?" she asked.

"Sure, if Mom wants to," Tetris told her, then glanced around. "Where is your guy? I haven't seen him?"

Sookie looked around apologetically. "I know he was really looking forward to meeting everyone.  He must've gotten tied up at work," she said, making up an excuse.

Tetris gave his sister a hug.  "We'll catch him next time," he promised with a smile.

Sookie glanced out the window, a feeling of unease overcoming her.  Where was Sinjin?

*AN: Sinjin moved in and obviously was a romance sim.  I was prepared to have him woohooing on the side while Sookie was at work, and then Sandy came over and they were 3 Bolts together.  It made sense that a man like that would run off with someone else if the opportunity arose.  Let's just be glad he didn't take 3 items with him!

Since he only brought $1, I didn't feel too bad about sending him packing, either! It's not like he contributed much to the household! And Sookie can do WAY better.

He did have a nice smile, though!

  1. Oh, poor Sookie! I get your logic on sending Sinjin off with his 3 bolt love (he can't lift restrictions, but will you play them?), but DANG! He was awful about it! He was awful from the first!

    Good story-telling!

    1. I might play them as an "update," but I doubt it. With my new job, I'm finding hard to find time to play my regular families. Lol.
